Summer Camp 2007

Our summer camp is Chinese language and cultural immersion program for anyone who is interested in Chinese language and modern life. It is combination of language cultural course, short Chinese cultural lectures, sport activities and excursions in Beijing
in the afternoon and weekend. It is also included Chinese language
partners arrangement so the trainees have opportunities to meet and make friends with Chinese college students.

Duration: 4 weeks
Starting dates:
Session 1: June 4, 2007
Session 2: July 2, 2007

Camp Accommodation: Campus of private colleges in Beijing

Aims and Features:

More than gaining knowledge and broadening mind, all sections of this Beijing summer camp program are to start an interaction-oriented mandarin learning experience abroad.

1) In weekdays, a half day language classes to build a good foundation of Mandarin Chinese phonetic systems(pinyin) and Chinese character structures.

2) After classes time for short cultural lessons such as Chinese calligraphy and painting, introduction of Peking opera, Chinese cooking and more.? A few session of language exchange events with Chinese colleges students will be organized in after classes time.

3), afternoon and evening activities include:
Peking Opera Show,
Peking duck dinners
Traditional Beijing dinner and entertainment show
Acrobatics show
Tours to Tian'an Men Square and the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, and Temple of Heaven

4), Weekend cultural tours
Great Wall Tour to Si Ma Tai
Hutong tour to visit Beijing style courtyard and learn to make Chinese foods
Shopping tour in silk market: practice how to negotiate in the market with the knowledge
learned in their Mandarin language classes,
Industrial tour to one of manufacturers in Beijing

5, Students will make final presentation in the last week to summery what he or she has learned in the program.

Total Summer Camp Fees: $1600

Everything that the students need during their stay in Beijing is included in the program fees visa support documents, airport pickup and drop-off, single room accommodation, three meals per day, Chinese classes, afternoon activities, costs for after classes activities and excursions (domestic transportation and entrance tickets, and supervision)

Deadline to book:
Session 1: May 4, 2007
Session 2: June 2, 2007

Registration Procedure:
1, contact Global Exchange Center and fill in and send back registration form
2, Arrange payment of $100 as program deposit.
3, Arrange final payment 4 weeks before the starting date.

The session may be postponed or cancelled if the booking is below minimum number. We'll send our confirmation 6 weeks before the starting date.
