Chinese Language Courses & Classes for Flight Attendants

Languages, and particularly Chinese, are always a valuable asset for flight attendants to possess. While it improves their ability to successfully communicate with passengers of different nationalities by creating a more relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for them; it also improves the position of a flight attendant within his or her airline - professionally as well as financially since many airlines offer additional ※pay for use of designated language skills§.

With the help of experienced flight attendants, who have visited our center repeatedly in order to improve their on-the-job Chinese, we have created a 10 day course consisting of 8 units to provide flight attendants with basic Chinese skills to successfully communicate with passengers.

Each unit of our "Chinese for Flight Attendants" course provides necessary and commonly used vocabulary, commonly used sentences, as well as useful sentence patterns. In class the flight attendants are able to practice through numerous exercises and an abundant number of sample dialogues.

General Characteristics: Our "Chinese for Flight Attendants" course consists of 8 Units focusing on:
1.   Greetings 每 welcoming passengers at the gate/aboard the aircraft, seeing passengers of at the end of a completed flight
2. Directions 每 helping passengers to find their way around the airport and to their connecting flights
3. Help 每 being able to understand passenger's common request and successfully helping them, as well as asking for help
4.   Instructions/suggestions 每 being able to communicate instructions in Chinese, as well as being able to provide alternatives to passengers, security instructions, and announcements
5. Duty-Free 每 being able to give description of products and communicating prices of goods
6.

Food and Beverages 每 giving the passenger a choice of which meal to chose, which beverage to select and being able to communicate the options a passenger has

7. On board entertainment 每 explaining to passengers the functionality of the on board entertainment equipment, the movie options, etc.
8. Apologizing 每 for the flight being delayed, turbulences, technical difficulties with on board entertainment equipment, a forgotten beverage, sold out duty free items, etc.

Schedule:

Classes are flexibly arranged according to the flight attendant's needs. They may start anytime except national holidays.

Duration:

The course length is 60 individual classes. The flight attendants may decide to take those classes within 2 weeks at 30 hours per week, or within 3 weeks at 20 hours per week.

"Tailor-made" classes:

Training is based upon the needs and preferences of the flight attendant. It is focused on conversation; speaking and understanding. However, upon demand reading and writing can also be included.

Class size:

One-on-one. However, group classes are possible upon request.*
