What can I expect to learn in your general Chinese courses?
For most short term courses, the training focus is on improving the students' conversational skills. We give intensive training on listening and speaking using commonly used subjects in daily life. On average, a student with almost no-Chinese experience can gain basic language survival skills in 4-6 weeks. A long term program is usually more balanced since it is covering listening, reading, and writing.

Is it possible to select the class contents to fit my personal need?

Private lessons are perfect for that and will be customized to fit your individual needs. In the past we have had students who studied medical, and business related Chinese.

How many people are in one group?

The average size of our classes is 5 and maximum size is 10.

How long does one class last in your program (without breaks)?

50 minutes

What is the program length and start dates?

Language programs start at one week and can be tailored to meet your needs. Group lessons normally begin the first Monday of each month and all start dates are posted on our website. Students can begin private lessons at any time, excluding national holidays.

Do you offer extracurricular activities?

We organize a number of trips and activities. Some of our past activities have included:-Trips to the Great Wall, Dinner at a Peking duck restaurant, Tea house/dinner performances, Traditional Chinese cooking lessons, Beijing Hotong tour (Hutong is traditional alleys in Beijing), going skiing and weekend tour to Xian.? We also help students with gym memberships and have sports equipment for student use. (not included in the program fee)

What is a typical student like?

Approximately half of our students are college students studying Chinese. Others come to gain valuable business skills or simply for pleasure. We do not have a maximum age limit, though the minimum age is 18.

How I can make a payment transfer?

You can wire the payment to our bank account in the USA. We also accept payment by PayPal online and major credit cards but there is 2% surcharge for all credit card payment and Paypal payment. In some cases, students settle their payment cash when they are in Beijing. In this case, however, we expect payment within the first week of the course.

Is there a deadline to make registration?

Register four weeks before the starting date of the program. A $10 late booking fee may be charged for late registration.

What is your Cancellation and Refund policy?

The registration fee of $50 is not refundable. The full amount of the tuition is refundable if the program is canceled within two weeks of the starting date. Ninety percent of tuition is refundable if cancellation is made within the first week of the program . No refund is available after the first week of the program. Any exception to this policy must be approved by the director of the Global Exchange Center.
